Angry IP Scanner is very small yet very effective IP and port scanning tool. It is worldwide used by many hackers, system administrators, script kiddies including the large and small enterprises, banks, schools, colleges, The main advantage of this tool is that it is available for Windows, Linux as well as MAC almost all the other platforms.
IP and port scanning is first step when you're forwarding to system hijacking because it helps in discovering the vulnerabilities for discovering and launching the proper exploit.
Angry IP scanner is my personal favourite and I'm not alone in the world claiming such quote.
Anger IP scanner for MAC
Angry IP scanner for Windows
Angry IP scanner for Linux
It requires no installation and can be moved easily to different systems.
It can scan IPs in any range, even 1.1.1.1 to 255.255.255.255. Its binary file size is very small compared to other IP scanners. Angry IP scanner simply pings each IP address to check if it's alive, then optionally it is resolving hostname and tries to connect at specified in Options dialog box TCP port.
It also has additional features, like NetBIOS information (computer name, workgroup name, currently logged in user and MAC address), results saving to CSV or TXT file, can be used as a command-line utility in a batch file, etc.
BOTTOM LINE: It is Small in size. Good User Interface. No Installation required. A very fast and highly recommended to all the system admins, security nerds and folks.
